Corporate burnout
Burnout manifests as feeling exhausted even upon waking; a loss of motivation at work and a loss of interest with life in general; depleted emotional resources resulting in anger, frustration and isolating behaviour; and may involve the use of alcohol, drugs, gambling or sex to self-soothe.
Having seen first hand the tremendous pressure we are put under in our professional and personal lives, I use a deep understanding of corporate life and the psychotherapeutic lens in my work to improve wellbeing & performance. While the cause of burnout is unique to each individual, workplace stress, unrelenting personal challenges and significant life events are common contributors to burnout.
Workplace and life stresses are unavoidable human experiences, but our reaction to stress can reduce its impact on our lives. Proven approaches to reducing the impact of stress include behavioural therapies (CBT – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, ACT – Acceptance Commitment Therapy) and dynamic therapies (meaning and purpose making, interpersonal therapies).
My approach to therapy draws upon evidence-based techniques suited to the unique needs of each client.
